The UK terror attacks and Grenfell Tower fire led to one of the busiest years in the history of the British Red Cross. Our Communications Team of media, social media, celebrity and multimedia specialists sprang to action to launch three major fundraising appeals to global media in the space of a few weeks, and held the One Love Manchester benefit concert viewed by 22.6m people in 50 countries worldwide. Through our world-class communications we raised £28m for the victims, increased our brand relevance, engaged new celebrities, generated 3,770 pieces of media coverage and reached 157m people on social media.
