Xero: Chasing Payments

Xero, the cloud-based accounting software company, was known for great product features, but needed to grow brand equity with its audience. We developed a brand purpose of ‘helping small businesses thrive’, and set about demonstrating it by taking on the big issues facing small businesses – starting with late payments. Channelling one of the world’s biggest pop stars, Adele, we rewrote the lyrics of her hit song ‘Chasing Pavements’ to ‘Chasing Payments’, which was released as an alternative pop video to not only raise awareness of late payments, but as a tool to help chase payments from big businesses.
