To publicise Sky’s drive to eliminate single-use plastics from its operations, and highlight the plastics pollution issue, a life-sized whale was made from 250kg of plastic recovered from the beaches and sea around Britain: the amount that ends up in the world’s oceans every second. The whale toured the country in a branded truck. The push generated 322 articles, of which 99 per cent had positive sentiment.
Sky Ocean Rescue shines a spotlight on the issues affecting ocean health, inspiring people to make small everyday changes that collectively make a huge difference. Sky is transforming its business to eliminate all single-use plastics from its operations, products and supply chain by 2020.
We were asked to take this corporate ambition to a mass consumer audience in a way that would capture Britain's attention.
