The past year’s events impacted the work of eBay’s in-house communications team in a significant way, disrupting the businesses on our platform and our ways of working as a function. We set out to respond to the crisis as a champion for small businesses helping them to survive and come out stronger; supporting our charity partners and helping customers shop safely for everything from antibacterial gel to hot tubs, to home-schooling equipment. And all the while keeping a remote workforce engaged and supported while juggling increased workload, family pressures and mental health challenges brought about by the lockdown restrictions.
