Client: The Musicians' Union
Musicians’ livelihoods were shattered by the pandemic, with the inability to perform live. This highlighted the importance of streaming as a way for musicians to earn a living. Streaming has created huge opportunities, but a gap in the law means that most streaming income ends up in the coffers of record labels, streaming platforms, and digital giants, rather than in the hands of the musicians. These corporations did exceptionally well during the pandemic, compared to performers, songwriters and composers. The campaign to #FixStreaming was aimed at addressing these injustices, to ensure more money ended up in the hands of artists.
