COVID-19 has undoubtedly challenged the communications industry beyond what could ever have been imagined. For LNER’s Communications Directorate this was exacerbated even further as the newly formed team grasped the changing government guidance relating to public transport whilst communicating to our audiences, especially to those that needed to travel for essential purposes. As we progressed into 2021, the team geared up to switch messaging throughout the various phases, while planning for the return of proactive activity.

Through this approach, we have supported our communities, our customers and our colleagues, whilst also ensuring rail has remained in the spotlight.
