As a critical public health organisation, we found ourselves at the heart of the national response to COVID-19, so had to quickly mobilise our team.
Increasing confidence in vaccine approvals and driving side-effects reporting to our Yellow Card reporting site was our focus. Our media and stakeholder engagement campaign was pivotal in minimising negative coverage and driving up side-effects reporting. A YouGov poll showed awareness of the Yellow Card scheme increased significantly in the first-vaccinated 55+ age groups. By April, we received 196,57 adverse side-effect reports which is six times higher than expected for new immunisation campaigns.
