The National Cyber Security Centre Communications Team
Comprising 44 diverse professionals across press, digital, campaigns, events, internal communications, and strategic planning, the team has delivered outstanding results over the past year. Key successes include CYBERUK 2024, the UK Government’s flagship cybersecurity conference, which attracted over 4,000 global experts, contributed £2 billion to the regional economy, and secured high-profile, positive media coverage.
Additionally, the Stop! Think Fraud campaign, launched in response to rising cybercrime, effectively leveraged industry partnerships and influencers, reaching over 36 million people. The targeted Black Friday 2-Step Verification (2SV) drive alone resulted in an 8.5% increase in email security activation and an unprecedented collaboration with Amazon UK.
The launch of the NCSC’s Annual Review further cemented the team’s communications excellence, generating major media coverage, a 52% spike in website traffic, and high engagement across social platforms. Meanwhile, the creation of the ‘Respond & Recover’ digital resource significantly enhanced support for cyber-attack victims, with a 61% increase in usage.
Through data-driven strategies, cross-sector collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to public service, the NCSC Communications Team has set new benchmarks in government communications, making the UK the safest place to live and work online.
