Across a PR career spanning more than 20 years, Warren Johnson, founder of W Communications, has been at the vanguard of the changing world of media as the digital economy has matured. Since launching W in 2009, the agency has become one of London's most-decorated, including winning PR Week's Agency of the Decade, alongside a barrowful of Cannes Lions gold. Today W is truly global in scope and scale, operating across every timezone, with offices from New York to Singapore and Holland under Johnson's lead. Work with British Airways, Unilever, Jaguar Land Rover, and CALM has underpinned Johnson's no-small-part in invigorating the UK street food scene. A voracious investor in startup businesses. He was an early investor in MeatLiquor and Pizza Pilgrims, the latter of which he sits on the board of directors. Through W, he has launched over 100 restaurants for clients such as Soho House Group, Caprice Holdings, and D&D. From humble beginnings, the agency has constantly adapted and evolved to incorporate specialisms as the changing digital ecosystem dictates. Most recently, Warren's focus has been on driving meaningful change within the PR world, most notably through the launch of WX, to address social mobility in the UK comms industry. WX won a SABRE Award in 2021 and PRWeek's D&I Champion Award in 2020. Warren has been recognised by Hospital 100 as one of the most influential and innovative people working in the UK's creative industries. Most recently, Warren has been shortlisted as Champion of the Year for the UK Social Mobility Awards and Business Leader of the Year at the 2021 Purpose Awards.
