Climate and the environment at Oxford

Rising global temperatures are driving changes in sea level and contributing to extreme weather conditions, causing catastrophic impacts on human life and a decline in the planet’s biodiversity. The undergraduates who joined Oxford in 2025 are likely to experience the greatest change of any generation since we emerged from the ice age – but there is hope. With the ingenuity that they and Oxford represent, by the time this generation retire, global warming could be history. Despite high public awareness, climate communication remains fragmented, technical and often politicised. Oxford’s globally significant research is distributed across departments and academic divisions, lacking a central narrative voice. The brief was to address this gap: improve global understanding of climate solutions by making Oxford’s research accessible, coherent and relevant. This campaign repositioned Oxford’s climate research from a dispersed set of academic outputs to a coherent, solutions-focused narrative, strengthening its role as a trusted source for policymakers, partners and the public.
