easyJet
easyJet’s UK External Communications team is a small but mighty in-house function responsible for protecting and promoting the reputation of the UK’s largest airline in one of the most fast-moving and highly scrutinised sectors. In easyJet’s 30th year, the team set out to cut through a complex external environment shaped by geopolitical instability, cost-of-living pressures and scrutiny of aviation, while reinforcing easyJet’s mission to make travel easy, affordable and accessible. We created The easyJet Effect: a simple, ownable platform to tell a bigger story about easyJet’s positive impact on customers, communities, regional economies and the UK. Developed and led in-house, with specialist delivery support from our agency partners, the programme brought corporate and financial communications, consumer PR, public affairs, sustainability communications and reactive issues management together into one clear strategy. From launching an evidence-led impact report at a Parliamentary reception with our CEO and the Aviation Minister, to driving national coverage around UK growth, new routes, affordable holidays and sustainability community initiatives, the team delivered high-impact work with lean resources and a relentless focus on outcomes. Campaigns including ‘Jet-Lato’, ‘Flakes on a Plane’, Airplane Mode, Flight Paths, Tech4Takeoff and our Book with Confidence Promise showed how easyJet continues to deliver for customers while supporting accessibility. The results were significant: thousands of pieces of quality coverage, stronger political stakeholder engagement, improved GEO search visibility and clear proof of purpose-led communications in action. Why should we be your In House Team of the Year? Thirty years after easyJet’s first flight, the team.
