Client: Vauxhall
To accelerate EV adoption and position Vauxhall as a leader in accessible electric mobility, Performance Communications evolved the Electric Streets of Britain campaign through a first-of-its-kind partnership with Zoopla: the EV Ready Homes Initiative. With government mandates requiring 28% of car sales to be electric by 2025, Vauxhall needed to move beyond awareness and address real barriers. A key challenge was home charging access, as 40% of UK households lack off-street parking. At the same time, EV infrastructure was becoming a decisive factor for home movers but was absent from property search platforms. To achieve mainstream EV adoption, charging must be embedded into everyday lifestyle decisions, starting with where people live. The EV Ready Homes initiative integrated national EV charging data into Zoopla’s platform, enabling users to view nearby charging points alongside traditional criteria like schools and transport links. A dedicated content hub, practical tools, and EV “Smart Tags” helped buyers identify future-ready homes, turning EV adoption into a tangible choice. The campaign delivered strong results: more than 40,000 visits to the hub, 240,000+ interactions with the charging locator, and a 65% rise in EV-ready property searches. Brand impact was equally significant, with a +23% uplift in unaided awareness, +14% in consideration, and a 37% increase in accessibility leadership perception. By bridging automotive and property sectors, Vauxhall created a practical solution to a systemic barrier, reinforcing its role in Britain’s electric transition.
