A finish line moment the whole country was talking about, powered by the strategic use of one of the UK’s most trusted fitness celebrities. On Sunday 26th April, Joe Wicks joined Daddy Pig to take on the TCS London Marathon, transforming George Pig’s hearing loss storyline into a joyful national headline moment supporting the National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS). Following the viral success of Mummy Pig’s pregnancy announcement last year, we once again brought Peppa Pig into the real world. This time with a deeper emotional purpose and a carefully constructed celebrity partnership strategy. More than a celebrity endorsement, Joe became a fully integrated narrative device: Daddy Pig’s trainer, running partner, media spokesperson and emotional amplifier for the wider campaign. Working alongside Hasbro, NDCS and London Marathon Events, we used Joe’s credibility, warmth and cultural relevance to move the campaign beyond children’s entertainment and into mainstream national conversation. From BBC start-line interviews to Runner’s World features and viral speculation around who was inside the Daddy Pig costume, the campaign became one of the most talked-about entertainment moments of marathon weekend. Crucially, it delivered meaningful impact, with more than £57,000 raised for NDCS, exceeding the symbolic £54,000 target representing the 54,000 deaf children in the UK, alongside a 280% increase in Google search interest for the charity. The campaign demonstrated how celebrity integration, when strategically embedded into the creative platform rather than added as endorsement, can drive conversations that last far beyond the finish line.
